Hola Juan Antonio,

Hello Juan Antonio,
I have relatively very little information about Pegaso in Israel, but I do not think it was an initiative by Seddon-Atkinson, because Seddon-Atkinson trucks were never imported to Israel. It is possible this was an independent venture by the Israeli Autocar (I mean, the USA truck manufacturer by that name) and Cummins dealers, Levinson Brothers. At the time (1980s) the ownership of White/Autocar was changing in the USA and they possibly had problems with the new owners (?), so another truck brand was needed as a replacement. This would also explain why most of these Pegasos had Cummins engines (Cummins was well known in Israel, the Pegaso engines on the other hand were a complete mistery).
Apart from the Troner, I remember a few Cabina Caudrada/Bocanegra/Tecno/Mider models before that. All the Pegaso trucks which were brought to Israel were of the heavier duty type, no Ekus ever.
The picture was taken in the 1990s. I very much doubt there are any still working there - Pegaso was not long enough on the market to become established, so that unlike other "orphan" brands people did not keep them for very long after the name and production were discontinued...
If you want to see heavy Spanish made engineering in Israel, you will have to take the train.
Best Regards,
T
